Kelly Services has a long term contract buyer position with one of our premier clients.  In this role you will ssupport the development and implementation of one or more major/minor category sourcing strategies. Executes standardized strategic sourcing processes for assigned minor categories. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers for assigned categories. Focuses on cost savings and developing a deep understanding of assigned minor categories and the related spend across the corporation.

Knowledge with Fleet Commodity in vehicle parts, accessories, repairs and services.

Major Activities of the Job
1. Support the development and execution of standardized strategic sourcing processes and strategies for assigned major/minor categories, and is accountable for value added, cost savings, and other performance metrics.
2. Lead cross-functional sourcing teams for assigned minor categories, and aggressively track and improve non-compliance with preferred supplier(s).
3. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers.
4. Execute contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions.
5. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned minor categories. Incorporates external trade association, market information and trend analysis to act as expert on assigned categories.
6. Build and maintain strong working relationships with key preferred suppliers, and monitor and continually improve suppliers? performance.
7. Identify and capture new enterprise spend areas where Purchasing can add value and drive cost savings via the strategic sourcing process
8. Develop, recommend and implement programs to enhance working relationships and communication processes to ensure achievement of leading practice procurement objectives.
