CONTROLLER - PROJECTS, Concord, CA

Kaiser Permanente Information Technology, within the Finance Group, has an opportunity for a Projects Manager in our Asset Management Group, located in Concord, CA.

This individual will be responsible for the direction and management of the KPIT Project Accounting staffs migration to a High Reliability Organization (HRO). The organization will be structured and aligned to be responsible for the Accounting operational financial accuracy of transaction services and support for KPIT?s Investment Project Portfolio. Will participate within the Accounting organization in its ongoing efforts to improve processes and strengthen its control environment capabilities. Must be a highly organized professional with proven management, organization, and analytical skills to provide proper direction and motivation to the individuals on the team.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
10 years experience in Accounting with 2 to 3 years of management experience in managing and, or supervising staff. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP), cost management techniques, and financial analysis. Leadership skills, team player, change agent, problem solving and complex decision making skills, analytical and communication skills are required. Effective interpersonal skills, pride in doing excellent work and managing multiple deadlines and tasks.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, CPA or MBA degree preferred.

As the Project Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading your department in meeting goals and objectives, and your clients needs. Leadership skills are necessary to enable you to lead your staff to perform the following duties in a timely and professional manner for all clients.

Helps lead in developing and establishing strategic plans and objectives in the transition to a High Reliability Organization (HRO);
Ability to work at levels of the organization, demonstrating effective influence and leadership;
Makes recommendations to and provides senior management with organization decision making support;
Identify, define and manage process improvement projects;
Models and supports reasoned risk-taking;
Responsible for the timely reporting of the actual operational results for the KPIT?s Investment Project Portfolio areas in monthly statement review.
Participate in the generation of the 2006 customer bill with the ongoing development of Application Based Costing (ABC);
Partnership/relationships with the Financial Planning & Analysis (Demand and Supply) and the Project Capitalization team providing Accounting/customer support.
Manage your team to timely meet all Monthly and Quarterly Accounting reporting requirements for all of KPIT Investment Project Portfolio areas.
SLA agreements with your clients as a customer are monitored and kept current,
