Collection Manager - UPDATED

 

 

This position is for an international law firm.  We will consider applicants from a professional services firm (does not have to be a law firm) but applicants need to have heavy collections or billing experience.

Responsibilities:



Individual is responsible for continuously improving the collections strategy of the firm, and enhancing existing procedures.

Individual is responsible for high visibility clients of the Firm primarily managed from the New York office, as well as monitoring collection efforts of various international offices.

Individual will focus on outstanding receivables, through the development and maintenance of relationships with billing partners, Firm clients and staff.  Individual will be responsible for securing payments of outstanding invoices on a timely basis through direct contact with clients via phone, email or reminder letters. Individual will also work closely with partners to coordinate payment strategies and take action under partners? direction.

Individual will analyze portfolio and maintain records of historical payments, current receivable balance, prepare client status reports and projections.  Individual will also assist with special projects including preparation of spreadsheets or other supporting documents for partners and/or clients. Ongoing responsibilities also include reallocating unapplied funds as well as researching client discrepancies, e.g. short payments, duplicate payments, etc. and working closely with billing specialists concerning status of client accounts.





Requirements:





Individual should have 10+ years of work related experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the Law Firm industry

4-year college degree

Law Firm software knowledge is required (CMS software is a plus)

Proficient in Microsoft office and database skills

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Highly organized with attention to detail

Strong time management and follow-up skills

Must be flexible with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
