Collections Analyst I

Currently we have an opening for a Collections Analyst I at Panasonic located in Elgin, IL.


Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collection Activity and Investigation
o Assure that timely payments are received from your existing customers.
o Support the sales department in collecting past due accounts and charge backs as stated in the Credit Policy with detailed information.
o Identify, contact, follow up on all past due accounts until resolution.
o Exceed budget collection ratio for assigned accounts on a monthly basis.
o Reduce Cash and Credit Memo?s over 90 days to ZERO.
o Reduce Debits over 60 days as to indicate a positive month to month trend and to record a nominal amount.

- Procedures
o Maintain professional posture.
o Complete adherence to Credit Policy.
o Timely release of orders and communication of status of held orders to sales and administration (E-mail Salesperson, Administrator, cc your supervisor, if orders are held-must identify issue and explain what is needed).
o Account maintenance including account receivable reconciliation, resolution of open charge backs, credit memos and unapplied cash.

- Reporting
o Preparation of Departmental Reports-beginning of month A/R package sent out within 3 days of closing. Prepare other monthly/weekly A/R Reports on high profile accounts as needed.
o Preparation of Cash Forecasting Analysis.
o Daily review of Over-Credit Line report; Monthly review of Customer Information report with the goal of reducing duplicate account numbers, linking accounts and reviewing terms consistency.

- Other
o Must be proactive with the front line and collaborative with the FSO team to ensure quality support of management.
o Must participate in resolving problems and improve processes across functional lines.
o Take a professional interest in helping the FSO team achieve operational excellence; be communicative and responsive and work together to improve service.
o Participate in all facets of training and development including job rotation, an essential part of the FSO development plan, which not only adds value to each individual?s career path, but the company?s plan for employee development, as well.
o Insures full compliance with MEI and PNA policies, internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Insures protection of company assets in all areas through front line knowledge and experience.
o Make periodic visits to accounts in order to successfully collect account balances, account reconciliation and to obtain credit information.


Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in a business/financial area or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0 - 2 years credit experience or similar environment.
- Proficiency in personal computer skills. Knowledge of Windows, SAP, other pertinent software.
- Good communication skills. Maintain positive communications with assigned customers. Supports sales administration, sales management and accounting.
- Well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated.
