Construction Contracts Specialist

This role assists in the execution of construction-related contracts (general contractor, architectural services, environmental services, etc). Activities include setting up and tracking budgets, preparing contracts, reviewing and approving change orders and ensuring the proper backup documentation is submitted with Pay Applications. This position uses judgment in auditing back up documentation to ensure the full transparency and accuracy of construction related expenses. This position will assist with publishing and maintaining Construction Contract Management procedural documentation, as well as providing enhancements to the existing procedures. This role will provide feedback on trends and issues they are encountering with suppliers. This position will interact with all levels of employees from multiple departments and will also interact with external suppliers. This position will work with 25-50 supplier relationships representing contracts that range in spend from $10,000 to $10 million in spend. This role will prepare standard form architectural, construction and materials purchase orders and contracts for construction of new stores & remodels in compliance with company policies and procedures, set up budgets in an accounting system, perform preliminary bid analysis, manage contractor prequalification, manage preparation of construction contract change orders and review for accuracy and cost efficiency and contractual compliance, oversee payments to architects and contractors ensuring promptness and protection of company interests, ensure compliance with contractual insurance requirements, assist with project forecasting, ensure project close-out procedures are completed in a timely manner, and perform desk top audits of contracts & change orders

Qualifications:

5 Yrs. General accounting functions.

2 Yrs. Timberline Gold Accounting System.

2 Yrs. Managing Construction Accounting/capital budgeting

Desired: Bachelor Degree (Business - Accounting)

Required: Associate Degree (Business - Accounting)

2 years experience (Accounting)
