Construction Project Accountant

Responsibilities:Prepare and send payment applications to clients in accordance with contract termsApply payments received by preparing deposits and recording entry in accounts receivablePrepare interest calculations and late payments in accordance with contract termsMaintain Prime Contract files, tracking all original documentationProcess all payments to subcontractors, vendors and consultantsEnsure that all subcontractors are in compliance with the conditions of the contractEnsure that all subcontractor and vendor invoices are submitted to project managers by established dateReconcile all subcontractor and vendor invoicesMaintain complete project files for the entire duration of the projectAdministration and control of General Condition costs Set up new jobs in the systemPrepare reports for the Project Team on overall project costs and how they relate to the budgeted amountsVerify that proper tax is being charged an paid on each jobInterface with the Project Management Team in dealing with billing issues, cost control issues, and supporting documentation

 

Requirements:2-4  years of accounting experience within the construction industryStrong understanding of accounting systems and principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under limited supervision and tight deadlinesAbility to use the computer in analysis and tracking in moderately complex spreadsheet situationsAbility to solve a variety of complex problems where only limited standardization existsProficient in MS Office
