Controller/Accountant

 

 

 

 

 

Temp to perm Controller for a growing company providing digital download of music and movies to universities across the country.

 

This ?hands on ?individual will plan, organize, direct, and control the accounting, treasury, and tax functions of the business. Specific responsibilities include:
? Performing the month end accounting closing process and preparing GAAP compliant monthly financial statements
? Developing, implementing, and maintaining appropriate internal controls and corresponding systems, policies, and procedures for all accounting functions.
? Managing the annual external audit and tax processes.
? Manage tax compliance issues in multiple states
? Manages a staff of 1 person and responsible for A/P, A/R, P/R, Cash flow, management, budgeting  and financial reporting

? Control and manage fixed assets at multiple locations

 

 REQUIREMENTS

Requirements include:

? Minimum 8-10 years total relevant experience with at least three years recent controller experience
? 3+ years experience managing accounting staff
? Proven ability to train and motivate people
? Strong computer skills in financial systems and MS office; Quickbooks experience a plus
? Experience offering a high level of customer service with exceptional communication skills
? Proven ability to establish/implement controls and procedures in fast growing environments.
? Digital entertainment industry experience a plus but not necessary
? Bachelor?s in accounting
? CPA and/or MBA a plus
