My client, a leading manufacturing organization, is looking for an Controller / Accounting Managerfor their Albany based operations.  The organization is a leader in their market and growing.  Their continued success has pushed the organization to expand their operations both domestically and internationally.  This position is a leadership role focused on meeting financial objectives within one of their more successful facilities.

 

This position reports directly to a Controller who has is a financial expert in manufacturing and excellent mentor.  The hiring authority has been in the manufacturing over 20 years and is looking for someone with the drive and capacity to move up in the organization.  He has held many leadership roles within various organizations and is highly respected for his positive leadership and mentoring abilities.  The person in this role MUST have a strong personality that is able to partner with operations and represent the best interests of both the facility and corporate. 

 

Responsibilities:

- Manage the over accounting and analysis functions for the Albany operation 

- Participate and lead efforts in analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and G/L management

- Capital project maintenance. 

- Ad hoc analysis, financial modeling (repair/replace; lease/buy), variance analysis.

- Manage the processing of daily billing and production reporting.

- Managed and develop staff and clerical employees

 

Requirements:

- BS/BBA in Accounting or Finance

- Minimum seven years of experience in a manufacturing or CPG financial role

- Ability to perform General Ledger Analysis and complex financial modeling

- Superior technical skills ? MS Excel, ERP system skills (SAP)

- Ability to multitask in a complex matrix environment

- Strong communication skills, oral and written

- Assist and/or lead in monthly/quarterly/annual close

 

Soft skills

- Ability to adapt and learn quickly

- Encourager of teamwork and positive morale

- Ability to relate and work across divisional lines, especially operations

- Ability to view business from detail and strategic levels

- Ability to interface and present ideas to senior level management

 

Preferences

- MBA or Masters Degree

- CPA, CMA, CFA or similar certification
