Controller- Construction

My client has been a leading full service commercial roofing company since 1978. Specializing in new roof installation, restoration, coatings and maintenance to re-roofs and repairs. 

 

With their continued growth and stability they are looking for a Controller to join their growing team.

 

Job Requirements & duties include:Financial Reporting

? Monday Report (update weekly Monday by 10:00 am).

? Generate Monthly Financial reports by the 10th working day of following month.

? Over and under preparation. Job cost analysis.

? Score card preparation for each individual and department and distribution.Process all sub-contract agreements after the project manager has provided the scope of work and payment terms. Insuring current insurance coverage, and process payments after receipt of approval from Project Manager.

 All Treasury duties:

? Oversee and administer payables and payroll requirements.

? Review benefits expenses and process for payment

? Maintain petty cash.

? Other duties as assigned.

? All Tax Deposits

 

  4. Supervises: A/P Clerk and Payroll Administrator

 

 

Objective/mission: Officer in charge of all Accounting and Financial Reporting responsibilities.

 

Character traits for all candidates:

 

? Good communicator both up and down the origination chart

? Detailed and thorough in planning and execution

? Follow up on a timely manner with both the employee and vendors

? A coach and mentor to all in your department

? Team / role / substitute player that will do what ever needs to be done to get the job completed

? Ability to anticipate and plan for the unforeseen 

? Possesses a high set of moral and ethical standards both in business dealings and in personal life

? Computer literate (must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Accounting program, Word, Excel. Currently we are using the ?Computer Ease? accounting program)

? Construction background. Good understanding of percentage of completion accounting

? Good math and language (both written and verbally) skills

? Manager of people, has seen action in a fast paced high volume company

 

 Minimum Skills and experience 

 

?  Five years experience in similar capacity with a company that administers a similar number of transactions.
