Job Title: Controller

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer

 

Job Summary:

The Corporate Controller will develop and implement company wide accounting policies and procedures and tracking/reporting systems.  The Controller will formulate and manage internal control systems, maintain general ledger, oversee all accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition and corporate tax liabilities.  Also, prepare month end close and accurate, timely internal/external financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance.

 

Qualifications:

 Candidate will have excellent leadership and decision-making skills required in addition to the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  The ability to understand, organize and supervise staff to work concurrently on several projects.  You must be able to interact in a multiple office environment and demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and motivate a financial team. 

 

Experience with professional services industry is highly desirable with five to ten years of diversified accounting experience, including public accounting and supervisory experience.

 

The Controller will be responsible for all general ledger activities, revenue recognition, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and payroll functions. This experienced team member will ensure financial data is prepared in accordance with US-GAAP and corporate financial policies through trend analysis and comparative analytics, making inquiries and recommendations creating operational efficiencies.

 

Responsibilities:Organize and manage the year-end audit and corporate tax returnMonitor the accuracy and quality of the work product for external audit and the internal reporting processes including posting to general ledger, etc. Generate accurate and timely financial statements. Develop and implement financial reporting and accounting process improvements to meeting existing reporting deadlines, anticipated business model changes and to reduce the periodic closing cycle Manage the preparation and timely issuance of the company's financial statements and reports including daily and weekly reports, period end financial statements and the annually audited financial statements. Analyze current accounting systems, monitor internal controls make appropriate changes when needed. Ensure tax and other filings completed timely and accuratelyParticipate in budgeting and strategic planning. Research, as necessary, and provide advice on accounting matters to the CFOPrepare other accounting schedules and analyses as needed Supervise and manage accounting staff

 

Education/Experience:

BS in Accounting/Finance related with MBA preferred. 

CPA or similar professional designation required.

Experience with Great Plains strongly preferred.

 

Highly detail oriented individual with excellent organizational skills.  A hands-on management style is an asset. An ability to work in a high growth, dynamic environment, flexibility, and experience building teams are strong pluses.
