Job Title:  Controller ? Government Operations

 

Reports to: CFO

 

Summary:  The Controller ? Government Operations has management and administrative responsibility for government contract accounting.  Ensures compliance with FAR and CAS accounting and cost reporting requirements and company policies procedures.  Maintains Federal and State Overhead, G&A, and Cost of Money and Fee rate schedules.  Maintains existing GSA Schedule and all modifications/additions thereto.  Operates as the main point of contact for Federal and State government agency inquiries and audits.  Develops and reviews cost input data on new proposals and or modification changes. Assist Program Management on program reporting.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Directs all aspects of government accounting operations, including:All general ledger transactions relating to the government division, including all invoicing, purchasing, receivables and payables management and other journal entriesHigh degree of knowledge and expertise in FAR and CAS government contract accounting requirements. Particularly in the areas of:Contract cost principles and proceduresAllocation standardsRate development/ forward pricing ratesTruth in Negotiations ActGSA Multiple Award ScheduleKnowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.Prefer background including experience working with DCAA auditors.Skills in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis.Knowledge and understanding of DCAA/DCMA processesSegment/business unit organization and rate structures under CASDemonstrated project management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsMain point of contact for Federal and State government agency inquiries and auditsDirect involvement in proposals for government contracts

 

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting and 5-7 years professional account experience, at least three of which were in government contracts environment.
