Controller for public co- established procedures in place - just waiting for you to grow the firm!

A large and publicly traded company located in Northern Virginia has an immediate opening for an Experienced Corporate Controller that will work directly with the CFO and supervise accounting directors at international locations.

 

Desired applicants will have 8 to 10 years of experience working in both Public Accounting and Corporate Controller industries.  You should have supervisory experience with SEC reporting ? writing, reviewing and submitting 10Q and 10K reports.  Additionally knowledge with SOX, FAS 109 and 123R is required .  Applicants should also demonstrate outstanding leadership skills that include implementing initiatives, and creating efficiencies with improvements.

 

You?ll be a key member of Senior Management in providing financial direction as well as supervising the accounting departments ? both US and internationally.  Written and verbal guidance will be needed on a variety of accounting issues. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the financial reporting, in compliance with SEC and GAAP requirements, that includes managing the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll and other accounting departments. Other responsibilities will be to create, monitor and review policies and procedures, and coordinate directly with external auditors.

You must have:
CPA License
Degree in Accounting or Finance with a GPA of 3.0 or better
8 to 10 years of experience with corporate accounting and public accounting combined
Knowledge of SOX regulations, FAS 109 and 123R and GAAP requirements
SEC reporting ? writing, reviewing and submitting reports to SEC
Excellent analytical, software and oral and written communication skills
Peoplesoft software experience a plus
