Controller to $125k+ - Construction

Job Description: Incredible position available in well known, prestigious construction company has urgent need for a Controller and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller for the accounting team. Responsibilities will include providing direction and leadership for the fiinancial operations of the accounting department. Direct and coordinate the accounting, budgeting and other financial operations of the company. Includes providing administrative and techinal supervision to staff personnel. Work with COO to monitor and schedule IT system maintenance and projects. Interface with external auditors for review and audits. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable/billing, bank reconcilation, general ledger, payroll,sales tax and general accounting functions. Maintain accounting practices according to GAAP, and oversee the preparation of required Federal and State financial and payroll reports as well as financial and related reports to the CFO and Corporate Excutives. Responsible for tax compliance and regulatory reporting compliance. Direct supervision of employees in the accounting department including: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolvinig problems. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. At least 3 years experience as Assistant Controller or equivalent. A BS/BA in accounting, finance. CPA/or pertinent master's degree a major plus. Total of 8 years experience. Preferred, entrepreneurial drive, excellent written and verbal skills, strong computer skills: Excel, Timberline or similar accounting software, Filemaker Pro or other database management software and Crystal Reports.
