Corporate AML Officer

The Corporate AML Officer will manage a team responsible to oversee Mellon's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance program and its related activities to ensure compliance with AML laws and regulations applicable to the Company's products and services with a coordinated approach throughout domestic and international businesses.  The Corporate AML Officer will ensure that the Company's Compliance Program incorporates policies, procedures, training, monitoring and testing reasonably designed to assure compliance with the regulations.  The incumbent will be responsible for identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and fraud risk and develop/implement action plans to address same and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar issues in the future.  S/he will be expected to lead specific AML process improvements, serve as the subject matter expert for cross functional projects, and provide consulting, training and coaching support to associates.  S/he will be responsible for producing regular and ad hoc reports for executive management and the Board of Directors.  Responsibilities will include daily management of the automated suspicious activity system housed in Corporate Compliance as well as the investigation, analysis and reporting of suspicious cases detected by the use of the automated system.

 

5 - 10 years of relevant AML compliance-related assignments. Knowledge of the Financial Services industry, with familiarity in asset management, asset servicing, broker/dealer, investment company, large scale processing, cash management. Experience dealing with examiners and knowledge of the workings of governmental regulatory agencies. Proven ability to influence others, particularly at the senior management level. Strong interpersonal skills, management skills, oral (public speaking) and written communication skills, analytical skills, and project management skills. Ability to manage a staff and numerous projects simultaneously. MBA or JD or equivalent degree preferred.
