Cost Accountant--Manufacturing essential, AS/400 & PRMS a plus

Job Objective: 

 

Gain full understanding of the manufacturing process and interpret transactions into financial data.  Support Cost Accounting Department by analyzing shop floor transactions, reviewing standard costs and participating in all month end and year end close processes.

 

Cost Responsibilities:

 

Analyze shop floor transactions, including but not limited to labor efficiency, material scrap and material usage.

 

Work with Plant Supervisors on understanding and/or correcting shop floor variances as needed.

 

Review standard cost of new products utilizing the prior day purchase order report, update system as needed.

 

Support labor production entry and review of variances to e-time.

 

Map processes and procedures of each department and the relation of each operation to the general ledger.

 

Initiate and oversee recurring cycle counts in all areas.

 

Analyze cost data and prepare journal entries for month end financial reports.

 

Assist in valuation of all physical and perpetual inventories, and all related work.

 

Participate in annual standard cost reviews and update.

 

Provide reports and analysis to all areas as required.

 

Maintain current knowledge of products and processes in the plant

 

Requirements:  Bachelors Degree in Accounting with 3-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience with Microsoft Office software.  AS400 / PRMS knowledge a plus.  Hands-on experience with PRMS is HIGHLY desired!
