Cost Accountant/Sr. Financial Analyst

Provide support to Laboratory Manager and Director in the areas of cost estimation and tracking; prepare project financial information for submittal to customers; prepare internal proposal documentation; assist in the cost estimation process; develop and maintain complex spreadsheets to estimate and track costs; prepare project record sheets; prepare written correspondence; review expense reports for accuracy.

Review cost accounts monthly to ensure errors or omission have not occurred.

Manage the Laboratory?s various cost accounts. 

Develop cost proposals for additional or modified work requested of the Laboratory.

Monitor all Laboratories? accounts and notify appropriate Laboratory Management prior to exceeding cost.

Maintain appropriate documentation on all cost accounts.

 

Requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent continued education and experience in cost/accounting principles. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner via telephone and in person; interact with clients; proficient in MS Word and advanced Excel skills; experience with cost reporting and earned value; well organized; work well with others; responsible, self-motivated, flexible and detail oriented; able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure with frequent interruptions; able to handle multiple tasks; able to work independently and with minimal supervision; handle sensitive data in a discrete manner; familiarity with MS Project is a plus.   SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, meet physical requirements and be able to wear an M40 mask as personal protective equipment.  This is a day shift position and comes with benefits of Medical, 401K, paid time off, etc. We welcome diversity in Alion.
