Credit & Collections Coordinator

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes the paying habits of customers who are delinquent in payment of bills by performing the following duties:

-Reviews files to select delinquent accounts for collection efforts
-Evaluates customer records and recommends that accounts be closed, credit limit reduced or extended, or collection attempted, which decision will be based on payment history and purchase activity of customer
-Confers with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses
-Assists in development of credit rating criteria and credit ceilings with upper management
-Interview customers in person or by telephone to investigate complaints, verify accuracy of charges, or to correct errors in accounts
-Creates and maintains database on activity conducted in all accounts
-Prepares reports on current findings and action taken for all accounts under investigation
-Assists in the recommendation of policies to upper management

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Qualified candidates are required to possess an Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Must have strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), written and verbal communication skills, and math skills (percentages, adding, etc.). Fluency in Spanish or French a plus. Management experience also a plus.
