Credit and Collections Analyst

A National Wholesale distributor is looking for a Credit and Colletions Analyst to manage the Credit and collections functions for a Regional area.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Conducts comprehensive credit reviews of prospective customers by investigating and verifying the customer?s financial status and reputation. Prepares documents to substantiate findings and makes recommendations about credit eligibility and limits.

?Establishes customer account credit limits and manages special credit arrangements and/or deviations from standard payment terms.

?  Establishes and maintains customer credit files in accordance with credit policies. Monitors file information to keep documents valid and updated.

?Develops positive rapport with customers, branch employees, management, and the credit and accounting team. Provides professional service to internal and external customers.

?Reviews collection status reports to ensure that outstanding balance payments meet company and department goals.

?Evaluates delinquent accounts to ensure that all appropriate collection efforts are used before assigning bad debt status.

?Reports uncollectible accounts to the Credit Manager.

?Identifies and recommends process, policy, and procedure improvements.

?Makes regular, proactive customer contact including daily collection calls for accounts over 30 days past due.

?Prepares certified collection letters.

?Maintains 45 Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and focuses on DSO reduction.

?Approves or denies sales orders on credit hold.

?Performs other duties as requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

? 5-7 years experience in Credit and collections

?Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

?Must have the ability to negotiate transactions on an intra- and inter-company level. Must possess the ability to mediate situations among employees and customers as they arise.

?Intermediate to advanced user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with an emphasis on the ability to prepare and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets.

?Associates degree (A.A)  from two-year college or technical school
