Data Analyst - Senior

Responsible for independently conducting and documenting data analysis for moderate to complex projects and assignments.  May conduct research as needed to benchmark and understand issues or project components, prepare basic data analysis including financial forecasts, and analyze Medicare/Medicaid and business trends.  Assist in developing the business data analysis portion of project reports.  Responsible for independently completing annual compliance audits.  Will attend designated IS, provider, and System Office Staff and leadership meetings.  Provide expertise and coaching to Cost Report Analysts.

Major Responsibilities


Ø  Meet all deadlines, both internal and external.


 


Ø  Work independently on all data analysis and consulting responsibilities. Provide support, expertise, and database coaching to Cost Report Analysts. Provide functional advice and project direction to less experienced analysts.


 


Ø  Design, conduct, and document data analysis and research for complex projects and assignments on a variety of issues.


 


Ø  Lead data analysis work for complex projects and maintain responsibility for the timely completion and quality outcomes / analysis of the project.


 


Ø  Provide summaries and recommendations to assist in managerial decision making and problem solving.


 


Ø  Complete ad hoc Reimbursement Cognos analyses.


 


Ø  Complete expected versus actual payment analysis every two weeks.


 


Ø  Revise / update internal PS&R calculations.


 


Ø  Complete annual compliance audits.


 


Ø  Maintain the Reimbursement Appeals / NPR database.


 


Ø  Attend designated Reimbursement staff meetings.


 


Ø  Attend designated IS, provider, and System Office staff and leadership meetings.


 


Ø  Attain 16 hours of Medicare / Medicaid related continuing education.


 


 
 



Qualifications


Ø  Education:


§ B.S. / B.A. in related field.


 


Ø  Experience:


§ 4+ years of Medicare Reimbursement experience with a Fiscal Intermediary, Public Accounting, Health Care Provider, Consulting firm, or other applicable background.


§ Applied knowledge in accounting / finance.


 


Ø  Leadership:

§ Focus on providing the highest possible level of professionalism to Site Finance, Operations, and to Fiscal Intermediary auditors.
