Direct Hire Accountant

Established St. Petersburg company seeks experienced Staff Accountant to start immediately.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for monitoring and maintaining financial information (including preparation of the monthly financial statements and year-end reconciliations).


Primary Responsibilities

 *Prepare the financial statements
 *Prepare sales tax returns (if applicable).
 *Prepare Bank Reconciliations.
 *Prepare depreciation/amortization schedules.
 *Prepare Rolling Cash Flows and Variance Analysis.
 *Reconcile general ledger balances for assets and liabilities.
 *Update work papers.
 *Prepare necessary adjusting journal entries.
 *Prepare utility billings, if applicable, for assigned operating centers.
 *Distribute financial packages to 3rd Party Owners and to Operations Department

 *Answer questions from vendors, accounting department co-workers and other departments related to assigned projects. 


Secondary Responsibilities:

*Assist Accounting Supervisor, Directors of Accounting, VP of Property Manangement and CFO in the completion of special reports and/or analysis, as required.

*Suggest new ideas to improve operating efficiency and staff morale.
*Prepare utility billings for applicable properties.  Review direct bill utilities (e.g., dumpster) for any changes in monthly bills.

*Prepare year-end reconciliations for assigned properties.  After approval by Accounting Supervisor, Senior Director of Accounting/Property Management Division, or CFO, prepare tenant invoices and required backup on a tenant by tenant basis. 

*Prepare additional packages as requested for external audits for year-end reconciliations.

*Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets for assigned projects.

 

Education, Training, And Experience Required
*Bachelors Degree in Accounting

*Experience working with a computerized accounting system; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel in a Windows environment; experience using general office equipment.

*Experience Required - Accounts payable/receivable for multi-company systems and preparation of bank reconciliations, sales tax returns, and general ledger account reconciliations.
