The Income Management Group is one of MassMutual?s fastest growing businesses and is seeking a solution driven individual to serve in the role of controller to lead it?s accounting team. This person will report directly to the division?s Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for:

 Driving and completing regular closing activities (monthly and quarterly) and deliverables, such as preparing all financial statements, reconciling various accounts, calculating accruals and adjustments, performing ad-hoc analysis and developing reports and presentationsFacilitating planning and forecasting activities by providing accounting expertise and guidanceDeveloping and implementing financial closing processesFulfilling some backup cash management dutiesServing as the main liaison between the corporate controller?s department and IMGBuilding an accounting organization to meet the needs of this growing business.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

?  Solid understanding of insurance processes and accounting principles (STAT and GAAP)

?  Demonstrated leadership skills

?  Proven analytical abilities and problem solving skills

?  Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP (R/3 and B/W)

?  Ability to multi-task and succeed in a team oriented environment

?  5 years financial services experience

?  Undergraduate degree in accounting; CPA or MBA preferred

 

This opening currently resides in Springfield, MA, however as organizations and their structures evolve, locations may be reevaluated and position location may change.  We are looking for candidates who have flexibility between MassMutual's two locations:  Springfield, MA, Enfield, CT.
