Job Description: Director, Corporate Analysis & Control

The Director of Corporate Analysis & Control will serve as a partner with the Vice President Corporate Analysis & Control in evaluating and implementing the strategic and operational direction for the organization. Importantly, the Director Corporate Analysis & Control will integrate current operating performance and risk analysis into a complete view of the business issues and risks facing the Company. He/She will also develop close working relationships with senior managers and serve as a key problem-solving resource to operating management. Finally, this person will be accountable to communicate regularly with key business unit and corporate functional leaders to ensure clarity regarding audit results and that appropriate action plans are being implemented.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director Corporate Analysis & Control will:


Work closely with management to gain a full understanding of business activities in the development of the CA&C risk assessment and audit plan.

Identifies financial, compliance and operational concerns and works with management to develop appropriate corrective actions.

Ensure regular communication of audit results to all relevant Corporate, Divisional and Regional management.

Proactively identify opportunities where CA&C can add value to the Company.

Implement innovative processes around monitoring, testing and analysis

Establish a solid control environment with dedicated individuals who exhibit uncompromising integrity and comprehensive internal control systems that balance benefits and costs while complying with company policies and procedures.

Provide expertise and guidance on financial compliance and operating issues.

Set direction and objectives for the Corporate Analysis & Control team. Attract, hire and/or grow and develop talent and leadership capability within the team. Ensure strong succession planning so that there are strong internal candidates being developed to potentially fill key positions within the finance organization.

Lead by example with direct reports in objective setting, regular communication and feedback, development activities and appropriate reward/recognition. Ensure all finance employees create and implement meaningful development plans and that performance reviews are completed on time.

EXPERIENCE

The Director Corporate Analysis & Control should have:


Fifteen plus years of progressive, broad-based financial management experience, having held the position of financial executive for an established, sophisticated publicly held medical device or related company.

Ten or more years of financial management and leadership experience, and proven success within a complex, matrixed, multi currency environment.

Five or more years experience in roles directly responsible for internal or external audit. Significant experience living or working abroad is essential.

A successful track record as a strategically and operationally focused senior financial and accounting executive.

Demonstrated track record of effective application of accounting principles, regulations and financial analysis in a multi-national setting. Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and internal controls.

Knowledge of issues related to a highly regulated industry.

Strong financial disciplines, especially in the areas of operating financial management and internal controls.

Outstanding analytical abilities to drive fact-based decision making.

A forward, integrative thinker able to anticipate and manage multiple priorities and move them all forward to solutions. The ability to define ?what ifs? and provide answers to those scenarios.

Ability to relate to management and provide value-added consultation to operations is imperative.

A sense of urgency and willingness to make tough decisions.

A participatory management style, strong delegation skills, and a proven track record of recruiting, selecting, developing and leading high performance teams.
