1. PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:

Provide leadership and direct management of all aspects of the finance function in support of Capital Markets Internal Relationship Management Function. Primary responsibilities include leading the pricing of products and services for FBC channels, ad-hoc business and opportunity analysis for new initiatives, budget and forecast planning, and associate development.


2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

40% Create and support the pricing of FCMS Products and services across the brokerage company.  Will serve as the key finance point of contact for the Senior Vce President of internal relationship management in FCMS.


25% Manage budgeting/forecasting process: Drive budgeting/forecasting activities for Capital Markets-Boston. Work closely with senior business leaders to develop meaningful business targets based on appropriate drivers for revenues and expenses.  Conduct and prepare capital budgeting and pro-forma financials in support of Capital Markets business opportunities.

 

25% Manage, prepare and review month-end financial reporting: Direct the preparation of financial reports for month-end results. Evaluate and analyze variances to previous periods and forecast. Manage the monthly close process in conjunction with NFSC-Accounting to ensure an effective and efficient process.

 

10% Management and administration: Provide training, direction, development and feedback to the staff.

3. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS:

o Frequent contact with FCM senior management to communicate financial performance vs. objectives.
o Meet often with FBC Finance to lead pricing of new business opportunities across FBC, as well as to provide insight into the services provided by FCMS and the corresponding cost of those services.
o Direct Report of the FCMS' CFO.




4. REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

o Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting or business administration.
o Masters degree, or CPA preferred
o 10+ years finance and brokerage industry experience necessary. Several years of capital markets experience preferred.


Skills/Knowledge
o Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of finance and budgeting concepts. Understanding of accounting principles and processes.
o Strong communication and presentation skills.
o Ability to coordinate multiple projects, delegate duties, provide effective supervision and feedback, achieve goals and meet deadlines.
o Basic understanding of capital markets products and brokerage operations
o Proficient in desktop software tools.
