?  This position will plan, implement and assess risk profile of tax strategies that lower corporate effective tax rate. Primary responsibilities include:
Manage escheat audit inquiries and monitor compliance of prospective filings. Assistance, as-needed, with Federal and state income, sales & use or franchise tax audits including research and writing of technical tax memoranda.

?  Work with internal and external teams to develop federal and state income/franchise tax planning strategies. Responsible for implementing strategies and monitoring that all necessary compliance is performed.

?  Assist as necessary with tax aspects of mergers & acquisitions activities, including due diligence, document review, purchase accounting issues, and compliance associated therewith.

?  Research and keeping the Tax Department current on new federal or state tax laws and tax accounting developments, including FAS 109 and Sarbanes-Oxley issues. Assess risk profile of tax filing positions.

Qualifications:

?  CPA required.

?  10 + years of public accounting/industry experience in the tax area.

?  Strong FAS 109 accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience.

?  Mergers and acquisitions experience, including FAS 109 issues associated therewith

?  In-depth experience with complex consolidated groups.

?  In-depth experience with publicly-traded companies.

?  Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills required.

?  Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to effectively develop and assist team members

?  Experience training and coaching less experienced staff

?  Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions

?  Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions

?  General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, Internet, and accounting software

?  Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business requirements

Education:
BS degree in Accounting or related field
