Director of Billing/Accounts Receivable

 

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the patient accounts department (25-20 people) and its day to day operations. This includes pre-authorization of insurance coverage, processing paper work, billing and supervising department individuals. 

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages staff of 5 Supervisors and staff of 20Maintain Electronic reimbursement, compliance initiativesEnsures pre-authorization and billing are executed for patients.Assists in the necessary orientation and training programs for department individuals.Assists in the hiring and annual evaluations of new and current department individuals.Verifies insurance benefits and acquires necessary authorization for services rendered to patients.Develops and maintains working knowledge of current products and services and all applicable insurance guidelines regarding eligibility for coverage and reimbursement.Reviews all billing and collection activities to assure compliance to Medicare, Medicaid, Contractual and Insurance guidelines.Manages cash flow with days outstanding for third party at 90 days.

 

Person must have 5 years experience in a managing/supervising role.  Must have strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance, healthcare.  Highly motivated, energetic person that can bring new idea?s, processes to a high growth company.  Must have medical, hospital, healthcare, insurance industry experience.  Salary is $70 ? 90K plus bonus, profit sharing.
