Director

 

Primary Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Director position will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting our private equity clients.  Directors should have a strong background in partnership accounting with an emphasis on financial services, proven client management skills, and the ability to manage and lead a team in meeting client deliverables.  The candidate should have practical accounting experience which includes: financial statement preparation, quarterly/year-end accounting closings, partner allocations, and/or audit experience. 

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

Client Engagement Management:
Strong Private Equity Accounting Experience 
Overall client engagement responsibility
Overall responsibility for client relationships and client meetings
Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables
Provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to our clients
Preparation of client service plans including annual budget
Establish plan for new client setup and transitions
Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process



Staff Management:
Provide overall work plan for accounting staff, which includes managing and monitoring work in progress
Review all work product prepared by accounting staff
Provide on-the-job coaching and training as necessary to the accounting team
Coach and mentor staff and create a positive work environment
Assist in staff training and development programs
Assist in the accounting staff recruiting process



Review/ Implementation:
Review private equity fund client?s partnership agreements, PPM?s and other materials
Implementation of fund structures on accounting system
Preparation and implementation of distribution/waterfall models
Review of limited partner and general partner allocations
Review client financial statements, partner capital statements and other required financial reporting.

Qualifications:
College degree in Accounting or related field
7 ? 10 years experience in Accounting
CPA designation a plus
Knowledge of partnership accounting
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
Supervisory skills with two or more professional staff
Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills
Project management skills with the ability to multi-task
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
