Director of SEC Reporting- Washington DC

Our client, an industry-leading company based in Washington DC,  is searching for a Director of SEC External Reporting: Duties & Responsibilities

? Handles all facets of transactional accounting for the Company?s complex debt and equity instruments, and ensure compliance with the applicable GAAP and SEC rules.

? Supports and assists the preparation of Holdings? SEC filings, 10Q's and 10K's, including responsibility for the filings of Inc.?s 10Q's and 10K's.

? Prepares financial statements and analyses in support of ongoing financing efforts and associated offering documents.

? Conducts monthly close meetings with unit accountants responsible for various functional areas to review GL activity, ensure proper accounting, and resolve accounting issues.

? Prepares consolidated/consolidating financial statements including statement of cash flows and footnotes for Inc. as any other reporting entities as necessary.

? Coordinates with Investor Relations and other operating departments regarding debt and equity transactions.

? Researches accounting issues relating to the treatment and disclosure for debt and equity items as well as other assigned areas of responsibility. 

? Provides assistance in managing the engagements with our external auditors for reporting and accounting issues including equity/debt. 

? Assists with internal control documentation and provide recommendations for improvements to internal control structure.

? Prepares analysis and management reports as requested.

? Completes special projects and assignments (such as potential acquisitions and financial system implementations) as required by Management.

? Maintains properly stated and organized work papers and other related documentation for financial statements.

 Education and/or Experience

? Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or equivalent required

? CPA strongly preferred

? Minimum seven years of progressive accounting work experience.

? Experience as an auditor of public companies in a Big 4 public accounting firm strongly preferred.
