Disbursement Supervisor

Our Richmond, Virginia Shared Services Center is seeking a Disbursement Supervisor to join our team. Key responsibilities include:
Manages personnel function incl. hire/fire, performance evaluation, employee development and other supervisory responsibilities.
Coordinate and schedule work of Disbursement Specialists staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of checks and even distribution of workflow among the staff.
Perform daily check runs.
Audit matched checks to ensure that the policies and procedures for obtaining the appropriate documentation to release the check to the vendor are consistently followed.
Process voided checks and when necessary re-issue new checks
Research duplicate payment, if necessary, work with the vendors to obtain refunds. Assist Cash Application to ensure that the refund is properly applied in the system
Research misapplied payment and forward to the appropriate person to process.
Research possible fraudulently cashed checks by verifying when and who cashed the check. When necessary ensure vendor completes the proper paper work and submit to our bank. Work with Cash Application to ensure that the recovered funds correctly applied and the invoices paid on the fraudulently cash check are re-processed for payment.
Research payment status for requested checks
Research request to do stop payment on check by verifying the status of the check has been cleared; obtain an explanation for stop payment. Complete Stop Payment form, attaching the necessary documentation and forward to the disbursement team for processing.
Address unresolved issues forwarded from disbursement specialists, AP specialists, vendors, and other sources.
Maintain monthly Disbursement Metrics


Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years disbursement experience & minimum 2 years supervisory experience. Must be able to provide superb customer service (internal & external) and be able to thrive in a high volume, fast paced environment. Proficient in MS Office & Oracle experience preferred.
