Divisional Controller - Internal Auditor

American Capital Group is a vertically integrated, full service real estate company. Formed in 1986, ACG specializes in the development, design, construction, management, and syndication of commercial real estate properties.

 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for the creation, development and management of the Company?s Internal Audits to provide objective assurance that risk throughout the organization is adequately managed, and that the Company?s procedures and controls are in place and operating effectively. The individual will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Controllers to identify control risk and develop audit strategies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop Internal Audit Department Charter with General Auditor, CEO, CFO and Controllers. Analyze policy and procedure adherence in each department.Verify that internal controls are in place and active to avoid loss to companies.Develop and manage internal audit department in accordance with the Internal Audit Department Charter. Audit, evaluate and improve internal operational, information technology, security and accounting/financial.Ensure that risk management procedures are in place and operating effectively.Ensure that the Company and its employees are in compliance with internal procedures and laws and regulations. Ensure corporate governance policies are adhered to. Assist with external audits as necessary.

 

REQUIREMENTSMust have expert knowledge of GAAP and related financial reporting requirements and SEC regulations; knowledge of statutory accounting principles is preferred.Must have minimum of five years progressive audit experience in a public accounting. firm or equivalent experience as an internal audit staff/manager; experience with insurance clients or working at an insurance company is required.Must have experience performing risk assessment, procedure and control analysis, and procedure improvement recommendation/implementation.Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Willingness to embrace change and show flexibility in assignments and the work environment.Strong communication skills and ability to interact with senior level management.Demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff members so they perform to the best of their abilities.Strong, demonstrated project management skills.

 

EDUCATION:BA/BS in Accounting or Finance is required.CPA is required.
