Assists Director of Domestic Taxes with federal & state income tax compliance, tax accounting, tax research & planning, SOX documentation, and tax reporting. Provides guidance and direction to other domestic tax personnel. Consults with and provides guidance to business units on income tax and tax accounting related issues.

Primary responsiblilites include:

' Manages, supervises, and reviews the work of domestic tax personnel in the areas of tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax reporting for federal and state tax matters.
' Responsible for federal & state income tax compliance work for the more complex business units, including income tax returns, quarterly and year-end estimated tax liability calculations, and tax accrual analyses.
' Coordinates/reviews the analyses of the monthly activity in the tax accounts including cash flow analyses for internal and external reporting.
' Responsible for the more complex tax compliance issues such as LIFO, UNICAP, and partnership related items which includes providing guidance to other domestic tax personnel on these issues.
' Assists the Domestic Director with the preparation and review of external tax reporting requirements and other tax accounting issues including SOX documentation and testing.
' Visits assigned business units at least once a year. Provides timely guidance to all business units on federal & state tax matters. Supervises business units visits made by the domestic tax staff.
' Works with Federal and State Audit Managers to provide support to the IRS audits and the state & local audits.
' Stays current on federal & state tax developments, organizational changes impacting all business units, tax software issues, and personal computer developments.
' Participates in tax planning and continually strives to improve the federal & state tax processes.
' Responsible for special projects as assigned.

BA in Accounting with a CPA and at least 7 years of corporate tax experience (federal tax experience a must) or equivalent required. MST is preferred. Must have strong analytical, organizational, managerial, leadership, communication and PC skills. Experience with tax compliance software a plus. Must be able to travel, work independently and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player.
