ACCOUNTING MANAGER



PROMOTION FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER CREATES OPPORTUNITY FOR A PROFESSIONAL WITH STRENGTH AND INTEREST IN DETAILED ANALYSIS AND REPORTING.


THIS ROLE OFFERS ROUTINE PROCESSES YET CONSTANT CHANGE IN THE WAY IT IS VIEWED OR REQUESTED TO BE REPORTED. EVERY ITEM IS ALLOCATED TO SOMETHING. EXPENSES MAY BE REALLOCATED FROM PERIOD TO PERIOD TO TEST OUTCOMES.
THE INCUMBENT NEEDS TO BE INDEPENDENT AND CAPABLE TO GIVE FINANCIAL ANALYSIS ON THEIR BALANCE SHEET POSITION AND THE P&L. VERBAL AND EXCEL/SPREADSHEET TYPE REPORTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE DIRECTOR.

REPORTING TO THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE, THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER WILL HAVE FOUR TOTAL REPORTING TO THEM. TWO STAFF ACCOUNTANTS, ONE TEAM LEAD AND A GL ANALYST.

COST ACCOUNTANT/ANALYST

LOCATION: LONGVIEW, TEXAS / GREGG COUNTY, USA

COMPENSATION: Will align accordingly with the incumbents skill level and applicable experience. Not expected to exceed Mid to LOW-50's.

CLIENT: MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

Summary: Provide analysis, controls and reporting in areas including inventory, costing, purchasing and capital spending.

 

The cost professional will maintain and analyze standard costs and implement improvements in costing systems and processes for a leading manufacturer in Longview, Tx.

 

Leading financial operations in inventory management, physical inventories and improvements for both, previous accomplishments in these areas given preference. Additional responsibilities will include: development of root-cause analyses, key action plans for financial process improvement and analysis of capital and non-capital projects. Knowledge of the Supply Chain, Operations and Sales/Marketing will be gained through process involvement. Fixed asset software is also administered by the incumbent.

 

Qualifiers and experience sought include:

-Three to five or more years in a costing role fulfilling similar role as above

-BS/BBA Accounting

-Financial analysis 

-Spreadsheets, MS Office suite and database applications strength

-Ability to lead other professionals in resolving projects

SR. STAFF ACCOUNTANT - SUMMARY
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compiles and analyzes financial information on a monthly basis.
Prepares and post entries to the general ledger and other ledgers necessary to facilitate monthly closings.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
Devises and implements system for general accounting.
Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job requires the supervision of accountants and cost accountants. Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Directly informs the Manager of Finance and Accounting of issues that need to be formally addressed and corrected. Informs the Manager of Finance and Accounting on a monthly basis as to the extent of performance of accountants and cost accountants.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Salary: 50,000 to 60,000 range.

Coordinate and maintain clients from a variety of business sectors.

Two CPA's on staff. Both with more than 10 years of experience and service to the region.

LOCATION: TYLER, TEXAS / SMITH COUNTY, USA

Summary: Reporting to the CFO, this role will provide support in implementing dollar saving initiatives and projects while overseeing a small group of tenured staff.

 

Working with the complexities of the team and its established culture, the Assistant Controller will further compliment the company as it expands and evolves. Experience in real estate and cash flow analysis are of interest.

 

Qualifiers:

-BBA Accounting/Finance

-Five or more years of blended accounting experience

-Supported confidence in software use and spreadsheet creation (excel)
