Executive Compensation Analyst
We are looking for a bright, highly motivated individual to learn the business of compensation consulting, assisting our more senior consultants and project managers in the areas of data collection, building databases, performing data analysis, and developing charts, graphs, tables and other methods for displaying data and the results of the analysis for client reports. The successful candidate must be highly detail oriented and have experience working independently and thinking critically about information and data. Key responsibilities include Financial performance comparisons among client peer companies; competitive pay analyses, including regression analysis and proxy research; and short and long term incentive plan design. Additional responsibilities may include developing competitive peer groups of companies for client comparisons, matching client positions to compensation surveys and competitor proxy positions, and building databases for executive and board of director compensation from information gathered from proxy statements and 10K filings, ensuring its accuracy. This person will be preparing comparative financial performance analyses for clients and their peers, analyzing executive compensation, board compensation, stock dilution and other types of relevant data to determine a clients position vis-a-vis the competitive market, and preparing charts, graphs, tables and other ways of displaying data and analyses for client reports. This person will be researching information on current issues and trends in the compensation arena and preparing other ad hoc analyses as needed.
Significant ability to understand and interpret financial statements is a must. The candidate must have significant Excel (including advanced functions), and PowerPoint. Expertise and experience working with database applications is required. A BS or equivalent is required with a focus in finance/business, accounting, mathematic/statistics or economics. 1-5 years of experience in a professional services firm, preferably in compensation environment with either a national human resources consulting firm or a public accounting firm is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
