Experienced Corporate Internal Audit Consultant

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company has an opening for a Corporate Internal Audit Consultant to conduct financial, operational, and compliance reviews of corporate operations and functions, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls over corporate operations and functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists members of the corporation in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. Plans and conducts audits in accordance with accepted auditing standards. Reports audit findings, and makes recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations, and reducing costs. Performs special reviews at the request of management. Surveys corporate operations and functions to determine the nature of these operations/functions and the adequacy of their system of control to achieve established objectives. Determines the objective and scope for proposed audit efforts. Prepares audit programs. Determines the audit procedures and sampling methodologies to be used on audit projects. Performs risk analysis for each corporate operation and function reviewed. Performs the audit in a professional manner in accordance with the approved audit program. Assists in training new auditors as needed. Conducts closing conferences with appropriate management to conclude audits. Writes formal audit reports for management at the conclusion of audit work, discussing deficiencies and recommendations for corrective action to improve operations or reduce costs. Performs appropriate follow-up on audit reports requiring corrective action by management. Appraises the adequacy of corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions. Collaborates with external auditors and consultants. Serves as a liaison/consultant to the business units.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor?s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance or equivalent business experience Demonstrate a continuous high level of performance in an insurance industry or auditing position Ability to render impartial and unbiased judgments on audits High level of integrity, loyalty, and commitment to contribute to corporate bottom line Excellent interpersonal skills Strong PC skills Independent and self-motivated Ability to travel Excellent organizational skills Problem solving skills Ability to handle stress, meet deadlines, and deal with multiple projects Ability to handle confidential information Ability to write reports in a professional manner Suggest working toward appropriate professional course work and/or designation Ability to serve as a consultant to the business units and work on teams Complete educational course work as assigned by manager.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2-3 audit experience preferred.
