Experienced Professional Tax Accountant

IBM Corporate Accounting has a need for an experienced professional tax accountant, with experience in Corporate Income Tax Accounting that includes a strong working knowledge of FAS # 109. Experience with external disclosure documents, such as annual reports, is preferred. Applicants must display a positive attitude with enthusiasm with a career objective of eventually working in the Corporate Tax organization. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. The most competitive candidates will have CPA certification. Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Taxation is required. Graduate degree/CMA/CFM/MBA is a plus. This position is located at our Corporate headquarters in Armonk, New York, and cannot be handled remotely. Remote applicants not willing to relocate should not apply. Responsible for US income taxes and their impact on the Corporate balance sheet with a primary focus on deferred income taxes, state income taxes, as well as related external disclosure responsibilities such as annual reports, 10Q, etc.. Responsibilities include the estimation of year end deferred tax balances, participation in the valuation allowance assessments and reconciliation of the US deferred tax position to the Federal tax return. This also includes participating in all quarterly reviews with the Chief Accountant, the VP of Taxes and PwC engagement partner. The individual would work in Armonk where our Corporate Tax dept resides and have ongoing interaction with that group.
