This position is responsible for performing accounting functions in producing timely accurate, relevant financial information for all farms effectively and efficiently. Will work closely with farm accountants in the field as well as with other functions in the corporate office.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and enter all month end journal entries for all farmsMaintain Detailed supporting schedules for all farmsPerform detailed account reconciliations for all farmsEnsure and maintain proper reporting of all farm accruals for all farmsAssist in completing budget variance explanations for all farmsAnalyze month end feed inventories and prepare appropriate journal entries for all farmsAnalyze ending milk inventory and prepare appropriate journal entries for all farmsAssist in analysis of replacement and growing crops costsAssist in mid month projection reportingSupport SOX compliance work as requiredOther duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

 BS in Accounting 2-4 years Accounting experience (agricultural experience highly desirable)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 Strong Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principalsStrong MS Excel knowledgeWorking knowledge of accounting software/platforms (SAP Preferred)Excellent analytical and communication skills both oral and writtenDetail oriented, highly organized and able to work independentlySelf-starter, dependable, and possessing the ability to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities
