Finance Manager

We are currently looking for a Finance Manager to join our internal Finance department.
The Finance Manager will plan, implement, evaluate, and manage finance functions on a firm-wide basis.
Specifically, the Finance Manager will:
Have primary responsibility for the following finance functions (not all-inclusive): 
- Partner compensation and ownership analysis - Firm valuation and partner buy/sell transactions 
- Merger assistance and tracking 
- Expense procurement and processes analysis 
- 401(k) process including audit and 5500 completion 
- Insurance management?worker?s comp, building, liability, etc.?audits, evaluate risk and coverage 
- Completion of firm surveys
- VK Affiliate financial statements and month-end analysis 
- Balance sheet analysis 
- Preparation of firm formal financial statements
Provide functional guidance and support to partners and managers regarding finance matters in order to support business unit objectives and growth and appropriately link to finance functions.
Support and enhance internal business unit and firm operations by acquiring knowledge of office and firm operations; identifying opportunities for improvement and enthusiastically leading and/or participating in internal projects and operations; as well as complying with all firm standards and upholding those standards to others.
In conjunction with the Firm Leader-Finance and unit staff, assist in the development and implementation of Finance operating plans and appropriate Best Practices initiatives to support the one-firm concept.
Assist in the effective management of finance staff by providing guidance, direction and training/learning experiences; facilitating building an effective team. Also provide feedback to staff members and give input to Firm Leader-Finance regarding associates? work performance (if necessary, assist in managing and improving associates? performance).
Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise--comply with continuing education requirements, independent study, etc. Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate. Individual is acknowledged and sought out by others due to knowledge and expertise in field.


This position requires:
An undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance, or similar field.
A minimum of 5 years of directly-related work experience.
Technical competence in accounting and finance.
The ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional client service.
Quality of work product, ethical commitment, and sense of urgency for timely completion of projects are essential.
Demonstrated effective oral, written and interpersonal skills, along with organizational, analytical, problem-solving and computer skills are necessary.
Willingness to work non-standard and extended hours.
