Finance Program Manager - Procure to Pay Process

Basic Function and Scope of the Position


This role will play a critical part in the future effectiveness and efficiency of NetApp’s Procure to Pay (P2P) process cycle.  Specifically, this person will engage the leaders in the various functions of P2P to transform their current processes as follows:

Facilitate cross-functional P2P forums where the business leaders will determine common process improvement and business objectives; agree on implementation strategies and prioritize business and IT resources in support of these objectives.
Supplement business owners’ expertise with research of best practices
Challenge, with a constructive and tactful approach, conventional NetApp wisdom.
Provide project leadership for cross-functional programs supporting the P2P process.

Manage software tool evaluations
Project manage implementation of new tools and/or processes as needed – develop/maintain project plans; ensure effective communication with project team, and relevant stakeholders
Manage consulting/contract resources as needed
Champion  the P2P process initiatives and priorities with other key support organizations with within
As needed, coordinate/lead M&A integration activities for the P2P process cycle.


 


The P2P Program Manager must exert leadership and influence with key stakeholders in the P2P process – functional executives, IT executives, functional and IT managers and end-users who do not directly report to him/her.  Travel may be required.


 


Specific Responsibilities:


Project/Program Management – the following items may or may not apply depending on the scope and complexity of the program or project.


 


Process Transformation and Management


· Research best practices for P2P in partnership with functional managers


· Challenge functional managers to think differently current processes


· Ensure there is appropriate formal change management to minimize adoption risk


· Partner with IT BPT group to ensure the priorities of P2P are appropriately prioritized relative to other company-wide initiatives


· Partner with functional managers to plan scope and schedule test cycles


· Represent P2P process in cross-functional prioritization and planning activities


· Ensure there is a structured methodology for regression and enhancement testing for super-users to follow and our change control for releases meets SOX control requirements


· Ensure policies in each functional area are in place and support entire P2P process


· Ensure effective process measurement across the P2P process


· Provide support for M&A activities that impact P2P


 


Project Management


· Manage all aspects of projects impacting the P2P process


o  Scoping/Planning


o  Detailed Design


o  Build (in partnership with IT)


o  Test


o  Deploy


o  Transition to sustaining state
Supervision and Interface with Others


This role will manage virtual teams of functional managers to drive results.  This role must work well in a highly-matrixed organization and be an effective communicator.  Although an individual contributor, this role must exhibit an ability to influence successful outcomes and motivate people across functions.  The position interfaces across the Finance organization, and will work with various functions and management in multiple organizations, sites and regions. 


 
Experience, Knowledge and Skills


The following skills and knowledge are critical to the success of this role:

Influential, take-charge work style
BS Business, Operations Management or Industrial Engineering and/or MBA
Consulting experience in process re-engineering and change management highly desirable
10 plus years finance, IT, or business consulting – with a strong exposure to most/all elements of the P2P process
3 years project/program management experience
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage deliverables
Overall business understanding and perspective
US public multinational company experience required
High technology industry experience
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build highly functioning working relationships
