Financial Analyst/Staff Accountant

Large Tellecommunications company is searching for a FINANCIAL ANALYST/STAFF ACCOUNTANT for their Northern VA Offices

 

 

Duties:

 
Key purpose of the role is to Key purpose of the role is to assist "Company" in the preparation and analysis of consolidated reporting.

There are a number of essential responsibilities and duties involved with this position including:
?Assist in the completion of Group Financial Reports (GFR?s) for the numerous entities that consolidate into "Company"
?Assist in the assimilation of additional entities into the Global Services Consolidation
?Assist in coordinating with the internal and external auditors regarding overall audit and resolving specific issues which may result (Quarterly and Year-End Audits performed).
?Research specific technical accounting issues
?Interface with the Statutory Reporting Group regarding specific issues related to reporting requirements and needs for each legal entity
?Management oversight of balance sheet reconciliations.  Flag any specific issues.
?Involvement in the monthly review meetings of financial statements.
?Assist in drafting and implementing policies and procedures as needed.
?To provide accurate, timely, fit for purpose management reports and analysis on the P&L and Balance Sheet for Business Insights Finance and Operational teams.
?Production of trend analysis and variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, including price/ volume and gross margin analysis. The results of any analytical review feeding into the monthly results commentary.
?Produce automated reports from Hyperion and  HFM to cover BI existing and future reporting requirements, and advise them on new functionality of the reporting systems with respect to their requirements. 

 

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven analytical and communication skills. In addition to being results-oriented and an excellent team player, this candidate must possess a high degree of initiative, the ability to work independently and be a hands-on problem solver.

The key skills for this role include but are not limited to:

? Strong Excel and Access Skills required (Experience in Oracle preferred)
? Experience with Hyperion Solutions Reporting and HFM modules preffered
? Strong "people skills" required to work effectively with other groups
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Must be an effective time manager
? Must have strong organizational skills required to handle multiple tasks
