Financial Manager - GAAP Analyst

LEADING REINSURANCE FIRM, IN LOWER, CT IS SEEKING A FINANCIAL MANAGER / GAAP ACCOUNT ANALYST (Accountant).   KEY PLAYER.

 

Responsibilities:

 * Monthly and Quarterly account reconciliation?s and write-ups with documentation for specified Balance Sheet accounts. 

*Monthly P&L support schedules and trending analysis month preparation.

*  Monitor trend analysis for quarterly financial activity to annual budget and current forecast results comparisons. Write-up and document findings.

*  Use PeopleSoft System to Analyze/record/reconcile entries.

*Preparation of specifics of quarterly BOD Report.

*Preparation of ad hoc reports for CFO.

*Position reports to CFO

 

Job Requirements:

 

Qualified candidate must have a BS/BA in accounting, finance or related field.  CPA certification is important.  Big 4 CPA is highly preferred.  6 years minimum public accounting and/or industry accounting experience necessary.  Reinsurance experience preferred but not required.  Strong system skills are required.  Highly proficient in Excel/Access spreadsheets and PeopleSoft software is a must.  Strong oral and written communication skills are needed as well.  Individual must have the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.  We are looking for strong critical thinking, analytical and management skills.

 

KEYS:

 

a) PeopleSoft experience, including PS Query and reporting

b)  Financial reporting/reconciliation of accounts/ budgets/GAAP financial statement preparation (5 - 8 years)

c)  Reinsurrance experience

d)  CPA
