Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to partner with the Manufacturing/Operations Director in crafting and implementing initiatives in the Manufacturing/Operations Supply Chain organization, evaluating and implementing strategic alternatives related to manufacturing, inventory management and logistics identify opportunities for profit improvement, improve working capital management (particularly inventory), and eliminate non-value adding activities. The position responsibilities will also include oversight of API?s financial systems and practices to ensure proper internal controls and regulatory compliance in a manner that is consistent with Corporate controls and enables the Agricultural Products Group to meet its? financial commitments. The incumbent will report directly to the Manufacturing/Operations Director with a functional line report to the Agricultural Products Group Supply Chain Controller and will collaborate with key stakeholders in the Agricultural Products Group, Global Supply Chain organization, as well as the Agricultural Products Group?s Finance organization. Specific responsibilities include:
Financial Planning, Reporting, and Consolidation:
? Analyze, design and implement financial models to meet business decisions and drive cost reduction.
? Present fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, lead time, order completeness and other relevant supply chain metrics to select customers through a Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment process.
? Analyze optimization scenarios to m shorten supply chain.
? Collect, measure, and reports monthly supply/demand and sales forecast deviations in line with approved policies. Develop and report plant performance to schedule.
? Creation and Maintenance of balanced score card, metric analysis, root cause analysis
? Integration and optimization of individual components of scenario analysis and long range outcomes planners
? Highlight potential supply plan issues based on visible demand plan and general understanding of the supply plan in a timely and professional manner.
? Conduct financial analysis to support key business decisions including investments, contract agreements and make versus buy opportunities. Serve as liaison between Manufacturing/Operations, Agricultural Products Group, Global Supply Chain and Group Finance, to complete the proper financial and business analysis and achieve economic value for all critical business decisions.
? Lead the annual budget process for Manufacturing/Operations. Responsible for total coordination of API?s budget schedule, management reviews, and year over year performance metrics, and presentation preparation.
? Provide oversight and forecast cash requirements
? Monitor, report, and analyze financial performance, explain variances to budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans, and present consolidated reports to management. Develop Long range plans as required
? Understanding root cause of manufacturing variances; working proactively with Manufacturing/Operations Supply Chain Leaders and Operations staff to institutionalize improvements and remedy unfavorable performance.
? Serve as the liaison to APG Global Supply Chain on cost management initiatives. Report to the Manufacturing/Operations Director and APG Supply Chain Controller on actual cost performance.
? Provide guidance to Manufacturing/Operations Operations and Global Supply Chain on working capital initiatives by driving business participants to reflect upon the tradeoff between EBIT and working capital.
? Work closely with the Manufacturing/Operations Engineering Leader, Technology Director and Product Support Leaders to identify and analyze commercialization and asset utilization opportunities or options.
? Review and make decisions on operational related issues with Manufacturing/Operations Supply Chain Leaders. Such as assessment of demand plan changes on working capital and options to manage through payment terms adjustments and/or delivery delays, etc; analysis of investment opportunities to improve plant operations and recommended actions; understanding financial details related to claims for payment made by Toller upon Manufacturing/Operations; understanding in detail errors in standard cost calculations, projected impact on the business and opportunities to minimize; and oversight of one time non-routine operational decisions requiring an authorization for payment/purchase.
? Provide to Manufacturing/Operations Director succinct, and unambiguous updates of overall business performance relative to budget and forecast. Clearly indicate changes in performance relative to the previous reporting period and key drivers. Ability to assess impact of variations on expected year end performance versus treating each event as an incremental change.
? Special Projects with an emphasis on supporting data gathering and analysis for negotiations, contract implementation, market opportunities, and relationships with external organizations.
? Supervision and development of direct report(s); including annual performance reviews, development plans, periodic performance discussions and seeing HR support when necessary
Job Requirements:5-7 years experience in a business with manufacturing and cost accounting responsibilities. Experience in the chemical industry with exposure to product development functions is strongly preferred, Financial audit, U.S. GAAP and SOX knowledge and/or experienceKnowledge and experience of complex international business agreements (especially Asia and Eastern European)Proficient in both English and ChineseDemonstrated high level skill in cost accounting and financial statement analysis. Operational experience a must.Demonstrated ability or aptitude for computer systems, database management and data assimilation, SAP experience mainly in profitability analysis module.Strong leadership skills with an ability to influence outcomes and set overall performance expectationsStrong analytical skills; with an ability to ask challenging questions and get to the underlying issuesStrong interpersonal skills and organizational savvyAbility to work in a matrix organizationStrong written and oral presentations skills
Education
MBA Finance; undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Engineering preferred.
