Financial Manager Position

 

Job Description:

 

The Ute Indian Tribally Designated Housing Entity (UITDHE), located in Fort Duchesne, Utah, has an immediate need for a Financial Manager who will be responsible for controlling, administering and coordinating the financial operations of the Housing Entity. The UITDHE is designated by the Ute Indian Tribe to provide low income housing to tribal members and is currently undergoing reorganization.

 

The UITDHE operates in a rapidly changing environment and is looking for a financial manger who will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, accounts reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, human resources functions, cash management, payroll, coordination of A/R and A/P information systems and day to day operations.  In addition, they will be responsible for facilitating financial audits and meeting governmental reporting requirements.  They will also assist the Executive Director in adopting and administering financial policies and procedures and internal control.  This position will interface heavily with management, board of directors and the tribal governing council.

 

The candidate must be a self starter with an ability to effectively handle multiple projects as well as following through to completion.  The candidate must have an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with and understanding of Governmental Accounting Standards and financial reporting. They must also have a knowledge of and experience with governmental grant accounting and financial reporting requirements; direct experience with HUD is a plus.  Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must experience with Great Plains Accounting software is strongly preferred.

 

Candidates must possess a bachelor degree in accounting and have 2-3 years of experience as a financial manger. Five plus years of experience in specific areas may be considered in lieu of degree.  Preference will be given to those candidates with a background in Indian Housing Entities and tribal members.
