Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the planning of internal control compliance process; drive process improvement. This includes coaching process owners in the design, documentation, remediation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting, analyzing and reporting internal control compliance results each quarter, and training and developing internal control compliance team.
Management:Assist in planning of internal control compliance process; drive process improvementCoach process owners in the design, documentation, remediation and testing of internal controls over financial reportingAnalyze and report internal control compliance results each quarterTrain and develop internal control compliance team
Strategy and Consultation:Provide guidance to process and sub-process owners on the identification, documentation and testing of key controlsWork with process owners to ensure timely review and update of process documentation and controls for new and/or existing processesAssist in the annual risk assessment, materiality determination and detailed testing plansCoordinate with process owners to remedy identified exceptions and deficienciesAssist in facilitating the SOX audit (working with the external auditors)Assist with the development of reports/presentations on the status of the compliance process for the internal control council, disclosure committee, senior management and Audit CommitteeEvaluate found deficiencies in accordance with the Company?s framework for Evaluating Control Exceptions and DeficienciesPerform and document Entity Level Self-Assessment testingTrain new or existing process and sub-process owners on the internal control compliance process, including performing self-assessmentsStay current on new technical literature applicable to the internal control process (e.g., PCAOB guidance, SEC, etc.)Keeps abreast of emerging trends and best practices within Clorox and the industryAssist with special projectsReview and supervise staff and consultants
Train and develop internal control compliance teamMay supervise staff and consultants


Required Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant accounting and internal controls experience to include supervision and staff development experience; 3 years experience in public accounting, Big 4 preferred
Consumer packaged goods or manufacturing industry experience
Previous experience with Sarbanes-Oxley
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
MBA or other certification may be required; Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred


Process oriented, ability to work with others, to lead and affect process change and improvements
Must have strong analytical skills in the areas of finance and accounting
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement disclosures
Must have thorough knowledge of financial reporting and experience in interpreting accounting and finance-related processes
Must have knowledge required to evaluate and make recommendations relating to enhancement to current processes
Highly motivated individual or is a self-starter and takes ownership of projects and tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate ideas effectively and concisely with all levels of management.
Requires ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills required.
Requires thorough knowledge of applicable systems programs
Process oriented, ability to work with others, to lead and affect process change and improvements
