Financial Reporting Manager / Accounting Manager

We represent a stable and growing company who is seeking to add a Manager of Financial Reporting to their team to be responsible for the daily management of the financial reporting department, which is primarily responsible for the preparation of the Company?s externally reported consolidated financial statements.

 

 

Responsibilities:Prepare and review accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting, including the preparation of numerous financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Prepare and review SEC filings such as Forms 10-Q, and 10-K, etc. Coordinate, direct, and oversee the Financial Reporting Analysts, providing leadership and supervision to staff. Assess performance and provide timely feedback, making pay and developmental decisions according to company policy. Review internal consolidating financial statements. Determine the accuracy and ensure the integrity of the information included in the general ledger. Monitor entities that have the ability to issue accounting and reporting rules and regulations such as the FASB, EITF, SEC, SOP and all other accounting and reporting related rule making bodies. Monitor and understand current industry accounting and reporting practices that may impact the company and its subsidiaries. Coach Accountants outside the financial reporting group in the preparation of GAAP/SEC complaint subsiding financial statements.

?  Upon the issuance of exposure drafts, new accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements, determine and make recommendations to Director, Financial Reporting of what impact the new issuance may have on the company and its subsidiaries.

?  Work closely with Manager, Accounting Research to develop ?white papers? which summarize those documents and provide a discussion and analysis as to the impact of such proposed rules and regulations on the financial reporting practices of the company and its subsidiaries.

?  Provide technical reporting and accounting assistance in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission?s (SEC) Regulations.Support other accounting functions including month-end close and account reconciliation, etc., as required. Provide support on special projects and complex technical accounting issues.

?  Assist with the integration of new business acquisitions and divestitures, etc.

?  Comply with Sarbanes Oxley Sec. 404 legislation as it relates to the work processes within the Financial Reporting department.

 

 

 

Qualifications:Bachelors? degree in accounting or related field or equivalent in training and experience, with a minimum of four years of experience demonstrating a working knowledge of accounting and reporting principles and practices. CPA/MBA preferred. In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, SEC reporting rules and regulations, and proficient in the preparation of financial statements. Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and general ledger systems. Demonstrated experience indicating effective communication skills, analytic ability, detail orientation, and ability to make independent decisions and meet deadlines.
