Financial Services Manager
This position reports to the Director of Financial Operations for a prestigious Fortune 50 Consumer Packaged Goods Company in North Dallas. This is a great opportunity for an upwardly mobile individual who is willing to relocate for additional responsibilities within the next 2 - 5 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage the Customer Financial Services operation. Establish department and customer specific goals and objectives that facilitate continuous improvement. Provide for the prompt turnover and adequate protection of the company?s investment in the accounts receivable portfolio. Report deviations or improper acts that violate Corporate policy or which are inconsistent with our Code of Business Conduct and the highest business ethical standards.
General Responsibilities:
? Advance collaboration work with the CFS Director, corporate, region and division senior management and functional leads (sales/finance/supply chain) to continually review the accounts receivable portfolio and functional assignments to ensure that they are divided among the staff logically and equitably in order to achieve maximum synergies and effectiveness.
? Partner with regional, operational and division management to target opportunities to eliminate reoccurring events by removing root causes.
? Develop annual business plan for approval by the CFS Director and measure performance against key indicators.
? Resolve issues through analysis of opportunities in an effort to achieve objectives. Escalate matters to higher level informing manager of significant issues and progress towards resolution as appropriate.
? Develop and maintain analytical process to ensure financial and operational objectives are achieved.
? Responsible for hiring staff and ongoing resource management.
? Develop and provide employee training. Continually review employee performance to verify that job expectations and performance is met or exceeded. Manage exceptions in a timely and appropriate manner.
? Ensure that department operations are in compliance with the SAM manual and all applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
? Escalate and resolve operational issues with Region Manager, CFS and field finance departments.
? Perform on-going evaluation of departmental processes to ensure optimal efficiencies/staffing/workload balancing is achieved.
? Perform special projects as assigned by Regional Manager, Customer Financial Services.
? Resolve issues through analysis, examination and study of opportunities, while striving to overcome objectives before accelerating matters to higher levels. Inform manager of significant issues and progress towards resolution weekly or sooner, if applicable.
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Directly accountable for daily management of all accounts receivable functions
? Develop key performance measurements (KBI?s) and management reporting for the Region CFS.
? Establish and/or enhance effective AR policies, procedures and processes.
? Ensure effective controls are in place to maintain integrity of accounts receivable systems and processes.
? Monitor the account receivables interfaces to ensure that external data is accurately received and internal data is properly transmitted and not duplicated.
? Actively participate in consumer Electric Commerce initiatives. DEDUCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a highly skilled research staff to resolve deductions (short pays) take by customers.
Target opportunities to eliminate recurring events by removing the root causes.
Communication with customers, field finance management, and CFS management regarding accomplishments and opportunities.
Oversee resolution documentation to ensure proper support exists regarding the final classification or disposition of customer payment variances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree required. Accounting or Finance majors preferred.
Master?s degree a plus.
Six to Eight (6-8) years experience in a finance position required.
Two (2) plus years supervisory/management experience required.
Proven record of leadership and people skills including innovation and motivation.
Must have demonstrated strong ambassadorial and negotiation skills with major customers.
Excellent planning and organizational skills required.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Ability to influence and shape the business process with senior sales/finance/supply chain management.
Advanced PC experience required, including database management, Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and writing.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
Able to travel as required.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
