Fund Expense Analyst

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE: 

 

The Fund Expense Analyst is responsible for implementing centralized fund expense procedures and analysis. In addition, they also provide information and assistance to Fund Accounting for fund expense-related activities carried out by fund accountants.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



 

Primary Responsibilities:

? Prepare instructions for management, distribution, transfer agent and custodian fee payments.

? Provide the fund accounting staff with sufficient descriptive information concerning reimbursements by the funds to affiliates (?out-of-pocket? expenses) to properly record these payments.

? Perform the setup of funds? expense accruals, perform forecasting; monitor the effects of accrual changes and the effectiveness of forecasts.

? Prepare expense reports for fund accounting staff, managers, and fund auditors.

? Provide assistance to both internal and external audit staffs on expense-related matters.

? Assist in the development of and monitor the effectiveness of expense-related policies and procedures.

 

Other Responsibilities

? Collecting benchmarking data and preparing management reports from this data.

? Assisting the internal departmental clients with fund-related analyses.

? Assisting with preparation for contract renewals or other agenda items for Trustee or Management Committee meetings.

? Participation in other projects as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education and Experience  A four year college degree, including exposure to basic accounting course work.Fund accounting experience or training, and familiarity with multiple fund types.

 

Skills/Knowledge:Demonstrated analytical, organizational and communications skills.Personal computer skills (spreadsheet, word processing and database applications).The ability to work under pressure.
