FINANCIAL SYSTEMS MANAGER WITH GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE

POSITION SUMMARY

Grant Thornton's Global Public Sector, based in Alexandria, VA, is a global management consulting business with the mission of providing responsive and innovative financial, performance management, and systems solutions to governments and international organizations.

The Financial Systems Manager is responsible for conducting the assessment, acquisition, implementation, and operation of financial management systems for federal and other public sector entities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Supervise project teams comprising a number of consultants in carrying out the tasks and activities of the systems development lifecycle ( SDLC ).
-Develop proposals and recommendations for consideration by the Senior Manager and Director on specific subject matter areas covered in the implementation and operation of financial management systems.
-Supervise the development of deliverables for the project area assigned.
-Provide continuous on-site leadership for the conduct of the assigned tasks and make decision in connection with specific problems and issues that may arise.
-Lead the development of business cases, software selection, and acquisition support.
-Lead workshops with customers in the design, configuration, and conversion of the financial management application.
-Lead activities associated with the implementation and support of financial management applications including, but not limited to, requirements analysis, business process redesign, training, systems testing, and end-user support.
-Ensure that project activities are performed with technical proficiency, in a timely manner, and in accordance with applicable standards.
-Review and comment on deliverables and related work papers.
-Oversee the preparation of deliverables to ensure outcomes, findings and recommendations are objective, factual and in conformation with overall project standards.
-Evaluate the performance of team members assigned to include recommending awards, promotions, or disciplinary actions, as appropriate.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or Computer Science.
-8+ years of applicable financial systems experience including at least 2 years of government consulting experience.
-3+ full years of lifecycle financial systems implementations.
-5+ full years of experience managing and overseeing aspects of financial management systems implementations.
-Demonstrated experience with federal financial management and processes including fund accounting, external reporting, and financial statement preparation.
-Demonstrated experience with JFMIP-certified ERP solutions in the public sector - Oracle, PeopleSoft, CGI-AMS Momentum, and / or SAP - required.
-CPA or CGFM a plus.
-PMP or PMP-candidate preferable.
-US citizenship required.
-Relocation expenses will not be paid.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.
-Travel may be required.
