General Ledger (Payroll) Accountant II

Job Summary and Mission

Responsible for reconciling assigned general ledger accounts; preparation of journal entries; analysis of variances; and assist the General Ledger Manager to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Payroll booking.  Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Communicate with business units and corporate departments regarding daily accounting issues.

Prepare journal entries to properly reflect transactions and provide adequate supporting documentation.

Research and respond to accounting questions from field operations and corporate offices.

Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and ensure that all reconciling items are resolved timely and all appropriate journal entries recorded.

Payroll booking.

Analyze and explain monthly variances of assigned P&L's and/or general ledger accounts.

Provide information required for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial schedules.





 

Summary of Experience and Education

High School Diploma required.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.

Minimum two to three years related experience.

Minimum one to three years industry experience preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge of business finance and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Accurate typing and/or data entry skills.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. and/or international currency, weight, volume and distance measurements.

Ability to meet established deadlines.

Develop and sustain productive relationships. both internally and externally to meet established goals.

Ability to read, write and speak English fluently and communicate effectively.

Read, analyze and interpret complex procedures or regulations.

Analyze complex problems and develop alternative solutions with supervisor's guidance.

Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals.
