Senior Accountant, Operating Expenses, Americas - Mountain View


This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Google is the number one search engine on the internet and we are looking for an individual with very strong international and consolidation skills to add to our team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting responsibilities, with the primary role of being Google's main corporate liaison for its global accounting team, driving corporate worldwide consolidations and reporting.

The ideal candidate is one who has been a top academic performer with a proven track record in global, high-tech companies, as well as one who has the desire to excel in everything they do. Work history should demonstrate job stability with increasing levels of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring and recording all accounting entries for the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina for one or more of the following areas:
Legal.
Facilities.
Human Resources.
Engineering Operations.
Sales.
Finance.
Corporate Communications.
Product Management.
Marketing.
Work with business partners in these areas, as well as local in-country finance managers, to insure that all monthly activity has been recorded and is in-line with the latest forecast, or that variances from forecast can be explained.
Transition roles and responsibilities from current process owners to the new team.
Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations for assigned areas of responsibility.
Work with the Consolidations group and external reporting to develop monthly and quarterly reporting packages of results.
Participate and give presentations in monthly meetings as needed.
Work with the America?s Controller on ad hoc projects as needed.
Interact with external auditors as required for questions that arise in area of responsibility.


Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance, with proven academic excellence.
CPA or requirements met for certification desired.
Experience with Oracle 11i is a plus.
Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with desire for continuous improvement.
