POSITION TITLE: Grant Accountant

WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 ? 5 years of general ledger accounting experience; non-profit accounting experience preferred; Experience with federal grants and contracts.


EDUCATION/TRAINING: BS degree in accounting or finance


TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-110, A-122, and A-133.


OTHER SPECIAL SKILLS: A self-starter with ability to work independently; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent organizational skills; The ability to meet deadlines and be flexible.


JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide assistance to grant staff by overseeing and tracking grant expenditures.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Review all invoices and billing requests for proper coding and approval; Perform research into financial issues/questions posed by the grant staff; Prepare quarterly general ledger account reconciliations (including appropriate support) and roll forwards; Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger journal entries related to grant activities; Perform general ledger account variance analysis; Formulate grant budgets and projections along with variance analyses when need; Create and maintain additional managerial financial reporting for grant staff as required; Assists with the annual A-133 and year end financial audits; prepares appropriate schedules and helps to resolve inquiries from auditors.
