This large energy corporation has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their team in their Kennett Square location. This division is a provider of an online power tie out program that allows quick access to power account information, frees up traders and accountants from the manual work of calling for a confirmation, and speeds up the billing process. The responsibilities of the position are as follows:

 

Responsibilities:

? Oversee, coordinate and control accounting records, as well as closing activities or financial reporting for the business unit in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals and corporate accounting guidelines.

? Provides accounting services, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining and controlling physical records, and analyzing and reconciling general and subsidiary ledger accounts.

? Prepares and/or reviews inputs to external financial reporting.

? Assists in technical accounting and reporting research activities.

? Assists in preparation and review of internal management reports.

? Assists in supervision of senior accountants and clerks.

? Participates in department initiatives including safety, diversity, business continuity planning etc.

? Liaisons with Controllers Community and Operating Area Accountants across the organization

 

Qualifications:

? Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field.

? At least five years of experience in accounting, with public auditing experience preferred.

? Demonstrated ability to implement processes consistent with accounting guidance

? CPA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred.

? Experience with accounting systems and technology.

? Internal controls acumen.

? Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills.

? Knowledge and understanding of general ledger accounting, General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, statutory and subsidiary reporting requirements

? FAS 133 knowledge preferred
